is this some kind of interactive theater art piece?

The Final Blog!

Total Pages: 1487

Overall this class was very helpful. I feel like my writting has improved because we did so many writing assignments. The weekly vocabulary tests were not hard. One thing that i would probably change about this class is the blog due dates. by having them due on Monday or Tuesday i feel like i'm done with the assignment for the week so i forget to read. I think it would be nicer if they were due on Fridays instead of the begging of the week. I wouldn't say that this class changed my reading habbits. I already read on my own so it wasn't that big of a deal. I mostly read during the summer time and it is hard to read for fun during the school year. I probably won't read as much during the school year as we were suppose to for etymology. The best book i read was hunger games. It was really interesting and i felt like i was in the book with the characters. Palo Alto was pretty good. I wished the short stories were long stories. I didnt like only having a short explanation. The worst book i read was Eat Pray Love. Even though I thought it was the most boring thing in the world i decided to keep reading it. And it was very long and dragged out. Probably one of the worst books i've read. Now I know a feel authors that I like and a few I should stay away from.

The Lovely Bones Pages 1-75

This book is about a young girl named Susie Salmon. She has a mother and father, an older sister, and brother. Susie is on her way home from junior high when her weird neighbor asks her to come see this thing he build. It ends up being a hole in the ground but he said it should be a place where all of the kids in the neighborhood can play it. She starts to feel a little weird so she asks to leave. But he won't let her he ends up rapeing Susie and killing her.

Once she gets to heaven she can whatch what is happening on earth. She sees her parents start to get worried when she hasn't been home. And she can see Mr. Harvey, the man who killed her. She whatches the police come to her house and search for her and there is nothing she can do about it. She even whatches Mr. Harvey dragg out her body parts. Susie starts to worry about her sister the most because she thinks that she will do something rash.

The beging of this book was really exciting and scary, then it started to get boring. It's frustrating that the man that murdered her is in her neighborhood so close to her brothers and sisters. And the heaven that she is in is really strange.

While waiting in the tree to be congratulated for winning a mn announcement comes on. It says that there was a rule change and there can only be one winner again. Neither of them can kill eachother so they decide to both eat the poinsinous berries. Just as they are about to put them in their mouths the speaker comes on and says to stop. They can both win. Once they get home and cleaned up Katniss reveals that she pretended to be in love with Peeta for the sponsers. He is very upset and they both are in danger becuasw thwy tricked the system.

I loved this book. It was very interesting and i felt like i waa apart of the games. Im excited to read other books by this author

The Hunger Games Pages 235 -300

After Rue is shot and killed katniss covers her in flowers and hinds her wounds. The people of Rues district appreciate it so they send her a loaf of bread. Later an announcment comes on that there is a change in the rules. Two people from the sam district can win instead of just one. This only applies to katniss and peeta and another distric because there are only 6 people left. Katniss begins to look for Peeta so they can form a team. After searching for a while she finds him laying on the ground in camaflage covered in mud and grass. Katniss can see that he is very hurt. She takes all of his clothes off and cleans them in a stream. There are bruises and cuts all over his body. He also has a high fever. They move to a crave where they can rest because Peetas leg was cut almost to the bone and it is infected.

Peeta keeps on asking Katniss for a kiss and when she finally does she recieves a gift from her sponser. Meaning that they like the romance they have going on. Katniss trys to pretend like shes inlove to keep the audience interested.

It comes on the announcements that there will be a banquet for all of the players and there will be things they really need there. Katniss decides she has to go because Peeta will die with out medicine. Peeta wont let her risk her life so she gives him medicine that will make him fall asleep for a day.

At this point i want Katniss to go to the banquet because i want Peeta to stay alive. And more people need to die inorder for her to get closer to winning. I think she will have a problem with a guy named thrash because no one has disturbed him yet.

The Hunger Games Pages 150 -134

The careers spot katniss and chase her up a tree. No one can reach her so they decide to wait untill the morning. But while sitting in the tree katniss notices human eyes in the tree next to her. They belong to Prim. Prim points up and Katniss notices a wasp nest. She tries to cut down the tree branch that it is connected to. While it falls down Katniss is stung 3 times but the stings kill two of the carrers and severly hurts the others. Peeta saves Katniss's life when he tells her to run away from the carrers after she goes back to get a bow and arrow left behind.

Later Katniss meets up with Prim and the form an allience. Prim gives her berrys and plants Katniss gives Prim meat. They form a plan on how to ruin the career's food. Prim is suppose to go and light fires to distract them. meanwhile Katniss goes to their food source and finds there are bombs set up. She shoots down a sack of apples which set of the bombs and in turn ruins her hearing and hurts her badly. She later finds Prim shot with an arrow by another boy. Then Katniss shoots him. Prim is now dead and there are 6 players left.

I feel bad that Prim was killed but it was probably for the best. Katniss might of had to kill her anyways which would have been worse. Although she is missing out on Prim's help. Hopefully the careers will start to starve and die off. I just want to know what happens at the end!

Hunger Games pages 95- 150

Now katniss and peeta have to train. They go to different booths and work on skills with different weapons. After that they have to go in a room alon with the gamemakers and show them their best skill. Afteewards they will be judged. The judges are tired because they have already seen so many so they dont pay attention to katniss. This makes her angry so she shoots an arrow through the judges food and almost hits one of them. She gets so angry that she did this cause she thinks now they are going to give her a bad score. However she ends up getting 11which was the best out of everyone.

Later she finds out Peeta chose to have private training lessons. That makes Katniss feel like he beytrayed her and they are offically not friends anymore. But during interviews Peeta reveals that he had always had a crush on katniss. His makes her blush in front of everyone and it makes her more appealing to the sponsors and fans.

Its kinda sad that peeta likes katniss. I think this is foreshadowing problems to come. Like they will probably have to hurt each other. Or maybe they will be the last two left.

Quality Time Redefined

I think my family uses a lot of technology, but not the the extent of this family. Our living room is shared with our kitchen. So, whenever someone is watching a movie they are not alone. We watch movies together. I have to admit that i just bought a smart phone. Its nice because i don't have to sit at a computer to get something done, I can check facebook, blog, and google anything whenever i want. You would think that this would make me spend more time on the internet but it actually does the opposite. I can look things up quick and be done. Maybe it is because my parents are not technologically advanced, or maybe its because we don't own an ipad, kindle, or more than 2 computers.

Hunger Games pages 44-94

Katniss and Peeta are now on a train on their way to the capitol. The train is very nice and they are feed very well. For the first time katniss takes a hot shower.

There is another ceremony where the players from all of the districts are introduced at the capitol. But before katniss is introduced someone waxes her entire body and she has to stand naked while people judge her. Then a stylist puts her and peeta (other boy from her district) into black unitards with capes and crowns of fire. With their costumes they steal the show from everyone else. Thats good because they need sponsors to survive.

Katniss thinks that peeta is playing a game with her and trying to win her over in order to kill her. So she tries to stay away from him but haymitch says they have to be together at all times and they are often dressed in the same outfits. While eating dinner one night she notices a red headed servant thay she thinks she reconizes. Katniss is told that that girl is a traitor and her tounge was cut off so she cant speak. Later she remembers thay she reconizes the girl from the woods at home. She witness the red head and a boy running away from something. Then the boy was killed and the girl was picked up by something. Katniss regrets not helping her.

I think its weird that she regrets not helping the red head because obviously if she did..she would be dead. Katniss thinks that Peeta wants to kill her or has some sort of a plan but i dont really think he does. Maybe its just her who has a plan. Im thinking that peeta and katniss will end up being the last two and one might kill the other.

Hunger Games pages 1-43

The first character introduced is katniss. She is hunting in another distrct for her family. It is really hard for them to get for because her father died and her mother never got a job. Alot of people in her district starve to death. They trade alot. Katniss has a friend named Gale who is two years older than her. They both help each other out with the food situation. Katniss also has a younger sister named Prim. She is very small.

There is a thing called a reaping that happens every year. Kids ages twelve through eighteen are entered into a drawling. One boy and one girl is chosen every year to participate in the hunger games. This year Prims name is drawn. However katniss volunteers for her little sister. Now she is on her way to fight for her life while her family and the rest of the districts whatch as entertainment.

This book is very interesting and exciting. I can see why so many people have read it already in the class. I don't really understand the whole district thing. I kind of picture like fenced in yards the way the book describes it. Aparently they are suppose to be in north america...but after it was ruined by a war then rebuilt again. Anyway, this is a really cool story line and it makes me never want to put down the book!

The Secret Fruit of Peter Paddington Pages 250-300

Peter started wrapping duct tape around himself so much that it caused health problems. He started to faint and had to be taken out of school. When he came back he was really embarrassed but people were conceded about his health. He decided he was going to loose weight and daniella was going to find a job. So he tried to jog with his sister. He didn't lijlke it because it made his left side hurt and his nipples burn. So then he tried an aerobics class. It was easier than running but he felt stupid doing it. Finally he found an excersise video tape in his sisters room and he began to do it often. He was finally loosing weight and daniella had his old job as a paper boy.

Overall this book was very cute. It was weird at times but that made it funny. I read it fast and it wasn't challenging but I had a good time listenin to the problems of Peter Paddington.

The Secret Fruit of Peter Paddington Pages 200-250

Peter finds out the Daniella in fact does have a boyfriend. He works at burger king full time because he drooped out of school. He is seventeen and Daniella is not even in high school yet. Peter doesn't like her boyfriend because he is so much older than her and because Daniella said she might do "it" with him. That scares peter so he tries really hard to break them up. He finally succeeds when he calls her dad and says her boyfriend is bad and to watch out for him.

The family starts to have concerns about peters sister Nancy. She has a boyfriend named Andre. She is upset very often because if him and no one like it. But she keeps on going back to him. She just recently lost forty pounds. She started to eat healthy and work out. Then she dumped Andre. Peter became jealous because she was a new Nancy and he wanted to be a new peter.

I still feel really bad for peter and the way he views himself. Maybe his sister will give him inspiration to start his old goal. I still think that Daniella and him will be together.

The Secret Fruit of Peter Paddington pages 150-200

Peter never makes friends with any of his potential boy friends. He thinks one day he will be popular and everything will fall into place. Like how he used to love theater but he quit because he thought he was too fat for re stage. But he thinks one day he will start it up again because he will be skinny. Plus his fourteenth birthday is coming up and everything will change. For his birthday dinner he wants his family to go to this old italian restaurant. Because he always walks past it and he thinks the owner is lonely. He feels bad for the owner because he has no buissness. He ends up going to a play with his mom and he hates it. But he does fall in love with the main character of the play. He thinks she is so beautiful. And perfect.

One day while visiting the little shop he always does he finds out something that really bothers him. The owner mentions that his friend daniella just bought a valentines day card and some candies and they might be for peter. He does not believe this at all and gets angry. He begins to think random people are daniellas lover.

I think it would be so cute if daniella and peter became boyfriend and girlfriend. It probably will happen because peter is obviously jelous of the boy she bought them for.

The Secret Fruit of Peter Paddington Pages 105-150

Peter's friend Daniela brought him to her catholic church because it was the aniversary of her cousin's death. He oved the stain glass windows and the fact that ou can confess our sins and no one will know about it. Daniela tells him a story about how a virgin Mary vistited her mom in a field and he starts to think he sees the spirit everywhere. But Daniela says she will only come if he builds her a shrine so he does. He thinks the virgin will cure his nipples and his problems. He then asked Daniela to get hima rosery and she did. So when he got to his house he sprinkled his "holy water" onto his nipples and said a prayer. He thinks her can convert into a catholic and cure his niples.

This story is hillarious. I hopt there are not really any 8th grade boys that self consious about their nipples.

The Secret Fruit of Peter Paddington Pages 51-104

Peter decides that regular tape is not working well enough. So he moves on to duct tape to secure his weird nipples. He also thinks that he is disipointing his partents and not living up to their expectations. He signs up for shop class because he thinks it will make him seem more manly. But, afer being made fun of the first day he lies to his parents and says he got kicked out. And now he has to take home ec, which is what he wanted to do all along. He loves the new class and the teacher says that he is very good at it.

Peter has no boy friends so he begins his hunt to find a friend that's a boy. He was once made fun of for only talking to girls. He starts writting down names then finally settles on Andrew. Andrew is very attractive and a lot of girls have crushes on him. So Peter tries to call him to ask him if he wants to go to a movie. However his mom gets in the way and he doesn't end up asking him. later Peter had to go to the doctor for a regualar physical. He is nervous because he doesn't want the doctor to see his nipples. He ends up being able to keep his shirt on. But he does find out he weights 204 pounds.

I was a little confused when he said he needed a boyfriend. Because i thought Peter was a boy, then i thought maybe he was gay. As I read further I realized he needed a friend that was a boy, instead of hanginf around girls all of the time.

The Secret Fruit of Peter Paddington Pages 1-50

The Secret Fruit of Peter Paddington is about an 8th grade boy named Peter. He delivers the paper for the bluewater observer. He has this one big problem, his nipples. And he thinks everyone notices them. So he goes to th convience store he fquently visits for candy, and purchases tape. So everyday he tapes down his nipples because they loo like cherries. Peter is overweight and he does not like himself. While at dinner with his mom and dad and two sisters he realizes that people staire at them and laugh because most of them are fat (with the exception of his sister). He has a friend named Daniela who curses alot. She wants to enter into a beauty contest for italians. Peter doesn't have the heart to tell her she is not very attractive.

I really like this boo so far. It's very funny. I am interested in what else will happen in this book based on a kid insecure of his nipples.

Dan Martensen and Shanna

Dan's unique home, which is surrounded by trees and nature, reflects his artistic and creative personality. His house can serve as constant inspiration for his work. Nature is always changing and there are new things to discover every day. It is obvious that this family appreciates nature by their extensive gardens, and out-doors activities. The rustic walls, chairs, and silverware of the house convey their easy-going attitudes. They do not need fancy things in life to keep them happy. It seems like they like old things because they have more interesting qualities. From the looks of it, they grow their own vegetables and fruits. These people are self-sufficient and content in their serene surroundings.

Interviews of High School Seniors

The marijuana baker seems kind of stupid. He claims that he likes "finding ways to help people". But i don't think you can do that by baking stuff that has weed in it. I don't think that he will be successful with this or make any money from it.
Tudel Riek's plans are a little unrealistic. He says he just wants to do anything with sports, he doesn't really know what. He just wants to make money but he doesn't know how or what skills he needs to do those things. I think I would relate most to Damian Dumas because i am interested in working with young people. I like listening to other people's problems and helping. I love being able to help people out. And also with Elivia Freeman. I don't see anything in my future that would make me wealthy. But i do want to be comfortable with my money situation.

In ten years I would like to see myself with a stable job. I thought i wanted to be a teacher because I love kids and helping people. I am a very organized person and i like to plan. So I felt like that would be the perfect area for me. I don't expect to make a lot of money but I don't want to struggle. I don't have any crazy dreams or expectations I would like to meet. I would just like to be successful in whatever I decided to do and live a happy fulfilled life.

1000 Awesome Things

#281 The Loudest Guy at the game
Okay..this one might be awesome for a little while but he gets annoying really fast.

#284 When the chapters in your book are really short
I love this! especially when you're forced to read something for school. And for etymology, they're really easy to summarize.

#287 When your child reads you a bedtime story
I love kids, and i love being read to. Awesome.

Looking Back...

The Accidental Billionaire: Pages 1-258 (Literary Fiction)
Eat Pray Love: Pages 1-334 (Literary Fiction)
Palo Alto: Pages 1-150 (Pop)

The books i have read, and blogged about so far are: The Accidental Billionaires, Eat Pray Love, and Palo Alto. I would have to say my favorite of those 3 was Accidental Billionaires. I liked reading about an event that actually happened and people that actually existed. But, it wasn't a boring documentary. It was about a few guys in college and something awesome happened to them. They also made a movie about it which was cool.
The book that i disliked was Eat Pray Love. It wasn't bad but, it was kind of drawn out. I couldn't relate to a 40 year old woman dealing with a divorce. But, I decided to continue anyway. This will not be an author that I will continue to read books from. I discovered that I read books faster when i can relate to them. I like books where there is some kind of tragedy or dilemma. They get boring when no drama is going on.

Palo Alto stories Pages 97-165

April (in 3 parts)
Part 1&2
April is about a kid named Fred. He is not the brightest guy. His friend saw him doing crack at a party but he still drove home with him. The car started swirving so the friend asked to get out of the car. After that he runs through a stop sign and hits a women's car then drives away. But, the cops end up pulling him over. He fails the soberiety test and is arrested. While in court he obviously does not care at all what is going on. And because he has never been caught doing anything before they let him off easy but give him 60 hours of community service. He was forced to appolgize to the woman he hit and she forgave him. He ends up doing his community service at a library. He was suppose to organize childrens books and puts them away. But instead he just read them, the librarians didn't seem to mind. Untill the friend that was in the car with him started coming to visit. They would draw inappropriet things in the childrens books. Then he tried to carve some girls name in their bench. After that he was forced to discontinue his work at the library. His probation officer forces him to finish it out at the Sycamore towers. He basically took care of the old people and changed their bedpans. He actually found an art class near the towers and he would attend. Then he would drawl while doing his community service. He mostly drew an old woman named Tanya. In his art classes they start to drawl nude people. He starts drawling this old lady who has a pretty smile. She loves his drawlings and hangs them up in her room. This leads him to meet her daughter. Then the short story ends.

It is nice that he started to find a hobby instead of drinking and doing crack. Obviously his friends were a bad infulence on him. Getting in that car accident was probably a good thing to happen to him. I think him finding that old woman to draw was suppose to the good ending to the story. Like maybe good things will continue from here.

Part 3 (April)
The third part of the story is actually about april. She is a young girl in the 8th grade. She played soccer for her school but she smoked alot. Her coach's name is Mr. B and he asks her to babysit for him. After babysitting Mr.B comes back to his house and brings April to her friends party. Before she gets out of the car he kisses her.
Soon she spends all of her time at his house. She ditches hanging out with people her age to go to his house. A while later Mr.B's son says something about his "other" babysitter. She just walks out of his house and leaves forever.

The first part of this story was kind of slow. It gets kind of boring reading about horrible kids screwing up their lives. Its really discusting that this 8th grader was smoking constantly like and adult, and hooking up with and adult.

Tar Baby
This story is about a bunch of teenage guys sitting around on the weekend. They don't know what to do so they drink. A.J. Sims calls some girls to meet them on a playground. They don't show so they decied to go to a party instead. But one of the guys starts making fun of A.J. so he gets mad and leaves him on a playground, by himself, drunk. The guy finds a marker that the other kid left and starts writting all over the playground and other propority on his way to the party. Once he gets here he is really drunk and gets arrested. The end.

This story was dumb. It was a waste of time to read.

Palo Alto stories Pages 67-96

Camp
Camp is about some jewish guy that goes to camp. He looses his virginity to a girl named Susan. Everyone makes fun of his friend because he had sex with a black girl and he's jewish. In all, the whole things pretty racist. It has a lot of random facts and stories rolled into one. None of it really makes sense. This story was also pretty dumb.

Chinatown
This guy was at a middle school playing soccer when he sees these two girls. One of the girls is asain, he says she is ugly but has a nice body. She ends up agreeing to go to one of his friends house where they get high and have sex together. They talked on the phone a few times. But one day he and his friends go over to pick her up. She performs oral sex on all of his friends, while they all whatch. There were some other events that happend that I don't want to mention. Then one of his friends that works at a restaurant told him if he could get Pam to do things with him he would give the guy a free dinner. So she did and he got his free dinner. Then other people who worked there wanted the same thing. A few days later Pam stopped making contact with this guy and started talking the "smart girls" of the school. She wore more conservative clothes. Four months later this guy is arrested for prositution, along with one of his friends.

This story was really discusting....I didn't understand why this girl was willing to do all of these things but he got arrested for prostitution. It wasn't like these guys forced her to do anything. She basically volunteered. But, it still was not right at all for those guys to do those things to her.

Palo Alto stories Pgs.1-66

Halloween
In the first sentence of this story the reader is informed that a boy named Ryan killed a woman on halloween. Then it goes on to tell how this boy is drinking, but he really shouldn't be because he is already on probation for being a minor under the infulence. Then you find out that his girlfriend does acid with other guys, and that makes him jelous. Obviously we have a real winner here. So they were drinking at some friends house when a parent comes home. So about 8 people squeeze into a Honda Accord. They all go to Alice's party and Ryan makes out with another girl (not his girlfriend). He gets a call from someone saying that his girlfriend is cheating so he rushes out of the party in anger. On this way out, he hits a librarian walking across the road and drives away. No one ever caught him and he suffered no consequences.

All I have to comment on is this guy. He is basically a loser. It was sad to read this story knowing that it does actually happen and there are people like that out there.

Lockheed
This story is about a girl that just moved schools and has no friends. The reason why it is called Lockheed is because that was where she did her summer internship. Which instead of working she drew. Her only friend was her cousin Jamie who invited her to a house party. When they got there she didnt talk to anyone and sat on a couch by herself. Then Ronny Feldman sat down next to her. They started talking and she loved that he was the only one being nice to her. While they are talking some guy comes up and saying something to him and they start fighting. They went outside and by the time the girl also got outside Ronny was lying on the ground. Everyone cleared away when a big white SUV came through the yard and ran over Ronny. He died and she stopped drawling.

This story was so sad. I had to stop and think about it for a second because it shocked me. But, it's cool that i have been to the compay Lockheed where she was interning. Its kind of like and airforce thing, where they bulit stuff for it. My dad used to work there for a few years in Florida.

American History
American History is about a sophmore in high school named jeremy. He is in history class and they are acting out a sceen about slavery. His partner gets really defensive when he makes racist comments and he notices it makes this girl smile. So he keeps on pushing the kids buttons and everyone in the class is laughing about how mad this guy is getting. Later after school he decides to call this girl to hang out: it doesn't go well. The next day in gym he is jumped by the kid he was making fun of in history but he still decides to go to his next class. The teacher makes him leave and on his way out he yells "i did it for you" to the girl. But while in the office he finds out that girl was a huge slut. So, it wasn't even worth it.

Killing Animals
Killing animals is basically about some kid that likes to shoot birds and animals with his bb guns and paintball guns with his friends. One day he trys to hit something but it hits a window and shatters it. A man comes chasing after them and tells them that normally his baby sleeps under that window. Luckily she wasn't there. They say sorry and leave. They also suffered no consequences and will probably continue to be annoying people that this earth does not need anymore of.

This story wasn't that great. The kids were annoying and I didn't want to read about them killing helpless animals.

Emily
Emily is a girl who participates in many sexual acts, not a very good person. While at a party she finds some guy she barley knows and brings him up to a room. She does things with him and then they go back down stairs. She sees that guy talking and lauging with Adam. At another party Adam leads her to the neighbors pool. He starts to take his clothes off and gets in the pool but she refuses to get in. So he pushes her in with all of her clothes on and leaves her. Later when she is at her house she hears a constant knocking at her door. She doesn't answer it but she thinks its Adam, always bothering her.

Visual Timeline

The first childrens book that stood out to me was Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll. When I was a kid I whatched Alice in Wonderland over and over again. It was probably my favorite movie. I had no idea there was a book called Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Which is where the movie probably came from. I actually saw the modern Alice in wonderland and it did not do the story much justice. The whole thing looked really cool but it was too different to understand.
The Wizzard of Oz was also a favorite of mine. I even had the little dorthy sparkly red shoes. They were adorable. All of my childhood books were made before I was even born. I probably owned every Dr. suse book ever made like Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and to think that I saw it on Mulberry Street.

Part time jobs

My best friend just recently found a part-time job after a year of searching. It's hard to get used to because you have to plan things and it is hard to make time to spend together. It seems like everywhere you go now you see someone from your school working. Which, can cause some akward moments. Even though im only 17 it feels like everyone is getting so much older!

The Children's Blizzard 1-32

The prologue begins with the date January 12, 1888. A huge blizzard happend in the United States over the northwest area; Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska. The day started off nice and sunny so children went to school without jackets and thought nothing of it. But as the day went on the temperature started dropping and snow started falling many children were killed trying to walk home from school because of the snow, in a windchill 40 below zero. A lot of people blamed the deaths on wheather men because they did not warn the people that a storm was coming but, they did not have adaquet equiptment anyways. This bilizzard is known as the SchoolChildrens Blizzard because of the amount of dead children.

Chapter 1
During this time a lot of people migrated to the US from different countries in Europe. They came here because there was alot of land for their crops and to raise families. They heard it percipitates often to water their crops. Some germans traveled here because they wanted religious freedoms. It was a rough part to live in some times but the immagrants took the good with the bad and looked for new opportunites.

That is so sad to hear how many people died that way. It makes me glad that I don't live that far up north. But then again, we live in Indiana. There are so many stories and different families it is hard to keep track of them.

Eat Pray Love Pages 283-334 (end)

Liz starts to spend more and more time with this new guy named Felipe. He is 52 years old and she is 35, which is a big age difference. In the begining they just spend time together. Liz refuses to do anything more. But eventually they fall in love with eachother. Liz decides he will be the exception.

After Liz raises enough money for Wayan to by a new house they have to look for the right one. Weeks pass and Wayan has not found one and she makes up excuses. There are 2 more weeks left untill Liz leaves and she is starting to think Wayan tricked her. But Liz ends up tricking Wayan into buying a new home after all.

To spend her last few days Liz and Felipe go on a small vacation in Bali. To end the book, Liz and Felipe have to find out what they are going to do becaue she cannot stay in Bali. Felipe has to stay there because of his buisness and it is close to Austrailia, where his kids live. He also visits Brazil often. Liz has to go back to her family and friends in America. So they decide they are going to have a relationship but fly back and forth to eachother.

Half way through this book I knew I did not like it but I decided to keep on reading. Having finished it, I still do not like it. Some of the stories were okay but over all the book was kind of boring. And the ending was kind of too fairy tale-ish. I think its great they love each other and all, but it is a little unrealistic for someone living in America to be in relationship with someone in Indoneisa, Brazil, and Austrailia. Now I understand how she was able to stay in foregin countries for a year with no money problems. She probably came from a rich family. I'm glad that Wayan finally bought a house however.

Eat Pray Love Pages 262-282

After falling off of her bike Liz visits a little shop to fix her knee. The woman who owns it's name is Wayan and she has a young daughter named tutti. Wayan does not have much money at all beacuse she divorced her husband, like Liz. She sold everything she had to afford a lawyer to keep her daughter. However she still adopted adopted 2 other young helpless girls she found. Liz ends up making friends with Wayan. And every morning she spends with Wayan and Tutti. While every evening she spends with ketut.

One day one of Wayan's friends comes over. Her name is Armenia and she is brazillian and very beautiful. Liz starts to make friends with her also but she will have to leave indonisia soon anyway. Armenia takes Liz out one night and lets her borrow some jewlery and a dress. While they are out Liz starts flirting and she meets a few new guys. One in particular is about 10 years older than her. They start spending alot of time together and Liz starts to like him.

Meanwhile, Liz's birthday is coming up. Usually she has a party and people spend a bunch of money on her gifts. But this year she decides to send an email out to her friends and family explaining Wayan's situtation. Shes asks them all to donate money for a new house for Wayan instead of gifts for her and she'll match whatever they donate. In the end Liz ends up raising 18,000 american dollars which is alot more in indonesia. Wayan is estatic and already knows exactly what her house will look like.

Its weird that little things like flirting are unusual for Liz. I don't like that she's met a new guy though. Her whole trip was suppose to be about herself and being by herself. The whole time I am reading this story i am wondering how she can afford to spend a year in new countries. Meanwhile not working at all. Did she save up for this or something? And it was a great idea for her to raise the money for that family instead of herself.

Eat Pray Love Pages 230-262

Liz finally meets the medicine man that said to come back and visit her years ago. At first he does not remember her at all and it frustrates her. But she begins to remind him about how he said she would teach him english because he was the writter from New York. Immediatley he says that she can come to his house everyday and spend time with him. Liz doesnt ask about living with him because his wife was there and gave her dirty looks.

Everyday Liz spends time with the man and sees first hand how he helps families. alot of people want help with their children or palm readings. She keeps him company and shares her stories about the places she has been and customs in America. She does not end up teaching him much english. However, Liz finds her own house to rent. It is beautiful and surrounded by a garden.

She meets a new friend named Yudhi, who rented her house to her. Liz loves that he plays guitar beautifully.

I was relieved to read that the medicine man remembered Liz. If he didn't she would have to leave Bali after one month and never finsish her journey. The stories that he tells Liz are cool and every she learns more about him.

Spellbound

All of the kids would love to win but they all have different motivations. For the Indian kid, his parents pushed him alot. He had alot of pressure coming from his parents to do well. It seems like he doesn't have very much fun in his life. Another little boy, number 8, he was excited and cheerful during the entire competion. It seems like he has fun with everything he does. His mom supports him all of the way. Its like he actually enjoys doing spelling bees.

Liz found out about this divine expirence called Turiya. It is basically a time of complete happiness when, not even your thoughts matter and you are with God. She explains that she cannot stay in that state because she hasn't fully understood it yet.

Toward the end of her stay, Liz was able to meditate about 5 hours a day. She can finally spend time by herself in content. She leaves ashram at 4 am and before she goes she writes 2 poems about her stay and puts them under a cherrished statue. Her trip to India is complete.

Liz arrives in Bali with no plans. She is quickly informed that tourists are only allowed to stay one month, which is a problem. She thinks back to when the Medicine man told her she was going to come live with him in Indonesia. In the mean time, first she vistits Ubud at the center of Bali. In Bali everyone is defined by the work they do. There children are basically named first, second, third, and fourth. And when they grow up they add their buisness to their name.

Eat Pray Love Pages 161-196

Every morning after meditation everyone participates in a chan called Gurugita. Liz hates it and cannot get the hng of it. The entire hour and a half chant is horrible. So she goes to see a monk for advice. He basically tells her that she can stop if she wants to but because she feels so strongly about it he recomends she continues to do it, so she does.

One morning she wakes up late and as she hurries to leave she realzes her roomate has locked her in. So she has no choice but to jump out of the window. She hurrys to the gurugita just in time, while her leg is dripping with blood from the fall. During the chant Liz starts to think about her nephew who has a few health issues. She dedicates the entire chant to him and helping him sleep. This helps her get through the entire thing and she actually enjoys it.

After this expirience, Liz decides to stay in Ashram for the full 4 months. She finds a new kind of meditation called Vipassana. And you are not suppose to make a move no matter what, just fight through the pain. One afternoon Liz meditates in a beautiful garden but doesn't realize it is infested with mosquitos. Instead of moving she meditates for 2 straight hours. Liz is determinded not to let any negitive thoughts flow through her head. When they do she repeats "I will not narbor unhealthy thoughts anymore"

Liz meets a 17 year old Indian girl named Tulsi. She tells Liz about how her family expects her to marry very soon. She attends weddings where people can ask her questions to see if she would be a good spouse for their sons. But Tulsi hates it and wants to rome the world like Liz.

Liz was discussing with her friends how she feels about David. So one of them gave her a note and sent her up to a tower alone. There, she talked to her husband (Spirtually) and offically moved on with her life.

Later, Richard finally leaves Ashram. After he leaves she decides that she talks way too much. She is making it a point to be as quiet as possible during her stay. But God does not want people to change their character. So she just has to make small adjustments like refraining from interupting or cursing. However she finds a job that fits her perfectly. A new group of people come to Ashram and she has to welcome them and help them whenever they need it.

It was sad to see her friend Richard go. I actually liked him because he put sense into Liz's head. It was a really good idea for her to stay in Ashram because she's making alot of progress. Meditation sounds like a really cool thing to get into. It seems impossible to sit still for hours at a time. At first I thought that she was in India to find out who she is herself. But, it ended up being about God. She now has a better connection with him and is a happier person because of it.

Eat Pray Love Pages 117-161

Finally, four months has past and Liz is on her way to India. At 3:30 am she arrives in Ashram in front of a temple. There she meets Arturo, he is there to welcome her to india. Right away she hears her favorite Sanskrit hymn from inside and joins in. She ends up meditating for the rest of the morning.

Later she thinks back to her old yoga classes in New York. Yoga is suppose to unite your body and mind into one while you find god. Yogis believe that everyone has a supreme self who is at peace. But all of the stresses in life prevent you from finding it. A Guru is basically a basically a greater yogis who can teach their ways. Liz is determined to find one during her stay in India.

The days in Ashram are hard work and long. They being at 3am and end around 9pm. Thats why it is not recomended someone going through hard times visit. The Indian women are dressed in silk saris and gold bracelets. On New Years they chant together and celebrate. Everyone is given work and Liz's job is to scrub the floors. Most of the people working with her are Indian teenagers. But Liz does end up meeting someone her age, Richard from Texas.

Everyday starts off with meditation at 4am. At first Liz cannot get the hang of it and frustrates herself. She lets her mind wonder to negitive things. However, finally she is able to expirience real meditation. She describes it as a blue electrical energy waving through her body. She thinks it is an amazing expierence. India is very different from Italy in the fact that they eat less. All the food given to them is vegetarian and they are instructed to eat lightly. Richard actually gives her the nickname Groceries because of how much she can eat.

One night Liz begins to think of her ex husband again and we are back to square one. She goes to the bathroom to cry by herself. The next morning she cannot meditate again. Her texas friend gives her a long lecture about how it will take time to get over her divorce. He makes her realize that she is controlling and doesn't like when things go her way.

I've decided I don't particularly like this book. It's just not fun reading about a recently divorced, depressed women. You think that things are going well, then all of the sudden she's depressed again. And it's about the same exact things as before. There is not really one story, it kind of draws on and on about facts and pointless conversations, so it is hard to summerize. She also asks herself questions alot, then answers them, which is weird. But, I guess if I wrote a biography about myself it wouldnt be very interesting either.

I'm starting to think that Liz and her friend Richard have a thing for each other. But it would probably be bad for her to act on it considering she came to India to find out who she is. I also hope she starts thinking positive again and stops crying about her ex husband.

Eat Pray Love Pages 97-116

In chapter 32, Liz visits Florence for a weekend. She ends up flirting with a man in Italian and is proud of herself. Not because of the flirting but because of her speaking abilites. She finds another really great Italian restaraunt. Later, her friend Linda meets up with her in Venice. They met on a trip to Bali. Linda is older than Liz but she is very beautiful. Her husband just left her andshe was left to run the family buissness in Venice. It is a pretty dangerous place and she also does not stay very long.

Liz finally realizes that, as much as she loves it, she does not belong in Rome. She is still trying to figure out what defines herself.

Luca Spaghetti's birthday arrives on Thanksgiving and he claimes that he wants turkey. But, he does not know how long it takes to make a Thanksgiving dinner. His birthday consisted of three different languages: English, Italian, and sweedish. But, some how they all managed to understand eachother and have a good time. As they go around the table and explain what they are thankful for Liz cannot find the words. So she basically says she is thankful for her old and new friends. Everyone around the table starts to cry.

After that night Liz finds that she has outgrown yet another pair of pants. She has gained a total of 23 pounds while in Italy. That does not bother her at all because she knows it will come off when she goes to India and she was very thin to begin with.

During Liz's last few days in Rome she finds more amazing food. She looks back at her time spent on eating, learning the language, and enjoying the sceen. She does not regret any of it and is a happier person.

I actually learned alot of facts about Italy in this first section of the book. It is deffinalty alot different from the US. It's nice that Liz had a good time in Italy but i feel bad for her friends that she is leaving behind to go to India. I'm wondering if she feels that she doesn't belong in Rome, does that mean she might end up in India, or Indonesia?

Eat Pray Love Pages 61-96

Liz begins to make new friends and finds happiness out of little things. For example she bought food from an old lady and prepared it herself. She goes to a soccer game with her friend Luca Spaghetti and learns a few new swear words in Italian. Meanwhile the entire time she is working on her italian.

Liz starts to feel like he belongs in Italy more when a young girl asks her for directions somewhere. Which means she is not viewed as a tourist anymore. That being said, she deicides to go on "vacation" to Naples. Her and her friend Sofie go for a day. It's not a very nice place but i did eat the best pizzia in the world. Liz starts to realize that she is gaining weight. It does not bother her because she looks healthier.

Just when you think things are going well Liz starts think about her ex-husband again. She writes him an email explaining that it is okay for him to look for someone else and that she is sorry. She says they were not right for each other and they had and unhealthy relationship. He respons agreeing with her, so she offically knows she can move on. After reading the email she breaks down in sobs while her friend Giovanni conforts her.

Soon her sister arrives for a visit. You can kind of tell Liz is a little jelous of her. Her sister is very smart and organized (She reads encyclopedias for fun). She is currently training for a marathon and has husband and a few children. With her sister's book smarts they explore the churches and art of Rome.

I like that Liz is starting to be a happier person. It's not fun reading about a depressed, recently divorced women. I love reading about Italy though. It makes me want to travel to Europe for a year!

Eat Pray Love pg 40-60

While in Italy it becomes obvious to Liz that she stands out. She has blonde hair and pale skin and people from other countries look at her differently. But that does not stop her from making friends. She plans t meet up with a few people she was told lived in Rome. Liz also made a friend in her new italian class.

After about the tenth day in Italy she starts to feel sorry for herself again. And you come to find out that she suffers from depression. Her therapist and doctors gave her many different types of pills to take. They said that she will be dealing with it on and off for the rest of her life. Fortunatley she does not want to take the pills and is determaned to prove the doctors wrong. However, Liz still suffers from self esteem problems and has many battles with herself.

Learning that Liz has depression issuses make things clearer now. I can kind of see why she just randomly left her husband. And why she was sobbing on the bathroom floor. I hate that she had a perfect life and she just left it all behind. But I am hopping that good things come for her during her year long trip.

Gaga is back!

As most people know, last night the Grammys aired. The thing that i was most excited about was Lady Gaga's performance. She was carried into the event in an egg, held by about 6 models. They claimed that she was incubating and couldn't come out untill she was ready to perform. It was a pretty weird thing to do. But her outfit was nothing compared to the meat costume worn to a different award show. Anyway, she sang her single, Born this way, which just released friday. Overall it was an awesome performance and i loved it!

The Lonely Field
The painting Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth grabs your attention with simplicity and mystery. The main focus of this piece is a woman in a soft pink dress. She is lying unusually in an empty field looking back at an old house. The grass seems to be dried out because it is a brown color, instead of the usual vibrant green. The woman's body is in a contorted position and her hair is flying away from her head. This leads me to think that she had just fallen. The way she is looking off toward the house makes it seem like she was runnig toward it. Her face is turned away toward the house so her expression is not apparent. But, the placement frantic hands make her seem almost fearful. It is obvious that this is not just a leisure day of relaxing in the field. She is attentive, and ready for something to happen. The color of the grass and the grey sky gives the mood a dark and grim feeling. These colors give off a vibe that a bad situation is taking place. Christina's World is an extremely expressive painting meant to be interpreted however the viewer sees it.

Eat Pray Love Pg 1-39

Eat Pray Love is about a confused 30 year old women. In the begining she is by herself crying because she cannot decided if she really wants to divorce her husband or not. They both said by the time they were 30 they would have a kid. However, she doesn't feel its the right time and she is not happy with her life. Eventually she makes the decision to go through with the divorce and her husband dispises her.

After the initial break up she falls in love with another man. She starts to depend on him and that pushes him away. They have an on and off relationship for a while.

Alot of these first few chapters are background information to help you understand her a little bit better. She loves the italian language and wants to learn it. This woman is a talented writer. Someone offers to pay for her to take a trip to italy and write about it. And after going to a guru, he says that she will visit him in india. With her husband's (soon to be ex) approval she makes the decision to move to Europe for one year. Four months in Italy, four months in India, and four months in Indonesia. Response to Teenagers, Friends, and Bad Decisions

The article basically says that teens drive differently among their peers. It makes it sound like kids are worried about what other people think when they drive. I personally get distracted when my friends are in the car. But the main reason is because I am having a conversation and its hard to focus on two things at once. However, when your friends are in the car they can do tasks for you. For example, changing the song on your ipod or reading a text out loud. Maybe some people drive recklessly when their friends are around but that just shows their maturity level.

Love this guy

Super Bowl

I was happy to see the Packers win the super bowl over the weekend. But, myself not being much of a football fan i focused my attention on the entertainment. I thought Lea Micheles performance was awesome. In my opinion they should have had her take Christina Aguilera’s place. While I was watching the singing of the national anthem all I could think of was how horrible it sounded. I expected more out of such a successful and talented artist. It wasn't until the next day I heard that she messed up the lyrics.

Oh well, you win some you lose some.

The Winklevoss twins are at a rowing championship in England. It is a very big deal to them and they are honored to be there. However, a Dutch team beats them by 2 seconds. After the race they are congratulated by the host. They start talking and the host brings up facebook. He says his daughter has one and gives it praise. This infuriates the twins. Facebook is not only popular in the United States, but it has traveled across the world.

Now Eduardo is furious with Mark and Sean. After working hard in New York and setting up meetings with advisers he felt really good about himself. Until, he called Mark to tell him the good news only to be shot down. Mark did not care about the progress Eduardo had made. Sean jumped on the phone to inform Eduardo that he had set up a few meetings with advisers also. Mark continued to stress how Eduardo should move to California. After sending Mark a complaint letter and getting no results Eduardo decided to freeze the account. Mark would not be able to cash checks or take money out of the account.

To sum up the end of the book, Sean Parker and Eduardo Savern are both cut from facebook. Sean gets arrested at a party with underage drinkers and drugs. Mark decides he brings a negative image and fires him. After Eduardo freezes the accounts Mark cannot trust him anymore. Eduardo is also no longer apart of facebook anymore. The Winklevoss Twins ended up suing Mark for 65 million dollars. Eduardo finally got the credit he deserved. He will forever be the "cofounder". Facebook continued to progress and today there are over 2 million users. Mark Zuckerberg is one of the richest 25 year olds in the world.

In chapter 22 Eduardo visits Mark in California. After attending a party together Eduardo starts to see how much of an impact facebook is making. Victoria Secret models were attracted to him and people were offering to buy him cars. People were attracted to Mark. On the way home Eduardo gets a call from Kelly. She is sobbing and informs him that she just set his apartment on fire, on purpose. Eduardo and Kelly soon break up.

Next the Winklevoss twins are at a rowing championship in England. It is a very big deal to them and they are honored to be there. However, a Dutch team beats them by 2 seconds. After he race they are congratulated by the host. They start talking and he brings up thefacebook. He says his daughter has one and uses it all of the time. This infuriates the twins. Thefacebook is not only popular in the United States, but it has traveled across seas also.

Now Eduardo is furious with Mark and Sean. After working hard in New York, setting up meeting with advisers he felt really good about himself. Until he called Mark to tell him the great news only to be shot down. Mark did not care and Sean had set up meetings with other advisers. Mark continued to stress how Eduardo should move to California. After sending Mark a letter of complaint and getting no results, Eduardo decides to freeze the shared account. Mark wuld not be able to cash an checks or take anymore money out of the account.

Next Sean and Mark are on their way to a meeting with a huge investor. Peter Thiel was the name of the man that gave them five hundred thousand dollars for facebook. That would cover the previous debt, and the lawsuit the Winklevoss twins were filing on Mark. Which Sean just saw as a minor inconvenience. Sean had came to the conclusion that Eduardo freezing the account and living in New York meant that he did not care enough. He saw Eduardo’s actions as childish and they did not need that when they are about to start a business. 'Thefacebook' was changed to 'Facebook' and it now had 3 million members.

It is sad to see that Eduardo is getting pushed out of the business. He has worked really hard but no one seemed to notice. But i guess that is how things work in the real world. Sean is slowly taking his place and he does not realize it. Instead of getting mad and freezing the accounts he should have thought about moving to California for the summer. He had already quit his internship so why would he choose to stay there?

The Social Network

I finally got to see the Social Network over this last weekend. As most people know it is based on the book I am reading, the Accidental Billionaires. In my opinion it was a very interesting movie. I thought reading the book made me like the movie even more. I knew some of the other facts not told in the movie and it was easier to understand. Overall it as a great movie an you should go see it!

Pages 132-172

Chapter 17 gives you a look at the life of Sean Parker. He wakes up in some girls bedroom and he has no idea where he is. Then, he notices and open laptop with a girls Facebook pulled up. Interested, he starts getting excited and decides that he needs to find the creator, Mark Zuckerberg. Then Sean goes to a flash back of when he first created Napster and Plaxo. He talks about how his friends betrayed him and now he is looking for his next big project.

The next chapter, Mark, Eduardo, and his girlfriend ,Kelly, are on their way to Meet Sean Parker in New York. Right away Eduardo dislikes Sean. Mark thought if they brought in Sean, he would help make money and expand Facebook. However, Eduardo was supose to be in charge of the business making decisions.

After that dinner, things began to fall together. Eduardo and Mark begin noticing major representatives from software and internet companies tracking them down. Everyone wanted to be apart of the Facebook expansion. Marks friends were also working on a file sharing network called Wirehog. That would eventually be combined with Facebook. Summer was approching so they both had to figure out how work on Facebook could continue. Because it wasn't making any money yet, Eduardo took and internship in New York. Mark decided to move to California with his friend Dustin and two other interns. Of course, those interns were not going to work for free. So, Eduardo opened up an 18 thousand dollar account to fund their operation.

Meanwhile, the Winklevoss twins and Divya launch their new website, ConnectU. After failing to get any justice out of their situation they decide to move on. They hope that their site will catch on and be successful but still resent Mark.

While Sean Parker is moving his girlfriends things out of her house he sees Mark. Mark had moved into the same neighborhood as Sean's girlfriend. It was convenient because Sean was looking for somewhere to stay and Mark offered their house. When Sean first gets to the house there are computers everywhere. He notices that Eduardo is no where to be seen. Sean thinks to himself that Eduardo is screwing himself over. He cannot be apart of the business half way across the country. Sean knows that with the attention comes parties and new opportunities. He's willing to teach Mark the way to handle all of it.

I think Sean Parker obviously has a hidden agenda. He is probably going to try to push Eduardo out of Facebook. Mark should have seen those signs right away. Having said that it might not have been the best idea for Eduardo to move take the internship. New York is too far away to be creating a business.

Chapter 15 takes place during a lecture by Bill Gates. Mark was so interested in the lecture to notice but, Eduardo saw two girls looking at him. Eventually the two girls came over and asked if Mark was the creator of Facebook. They had no idea who Eduardo was until he informed them. But the girls ended up asking the two of them out. Eduardo and Mark were starting to see the side effects their new site.

Later, the two of them went back to Marks dorm. That was when he received a letter from the Winklevoss twins about Facebook. They basically stated that it was unfair of Mark to set up the website. And if he did not delete the site they were going to use legal action. Mark did not seem to care at all and he was not scared of the Winklevoss twins.

Chapter 16 takes you back to the Winklevoss's point of view. They had already tried getting their dad or other resources to help them but nothing worked. So they decided to set up a meeting with the president of Harvard University. Once inside the office the twins were taken back by the presidents attitude. He did not care a bit about their minuscule problem (even though they spent hours typing up a detailed ten page paper of the emails sent between Mark and why what he did was wrong). They left the meeting feeling worse than they had before and had made no progress.

Even though Eduardo is fine with the recognition he is getting now, I think it will back fire for Mark later. Eduardo paid for the entire thing and Mark is getting all of the attention. Also, I have a feeling that the Winklevoss twins will never get what they want from Mark. At this time Facebook was not making any money. It was just a stolen idea with no contracts or official documents.

Chapter 15 is basically about getting the site up and running. Eduardo comes into Marks dorm to find him hard at work at the almost complete TheFacebook. He thinks its weird that Marks name is under the site even though Eduardo paid for it. And Mark was acting very weird and distracted. But Eduardo just brushes it off. This makes me think that maybe there will be a conflict between the two of them. Eduardo might want more credit than what he was given. At the beginning of chapter 16 the brothers and Divya see the site.  I think more probems are coming for Mark. And setting up the site was not as easy as he thought it would be.

The day after the creation of Mark's website he realizes that he could get in trouble for the site. Immediately he disables the link but its too late. Many students had already seen it and an article was published in the school paper. consequently, the school finds out and Mark has to go in front of the school board and apologizes for hacking their system. They basically gave him a warning and let him go. However, because of the article in the newspaper the Winklevoss brothers and Divya contacted Mark. They thought he was the perfect person to create their website, HarvardConnection. So Mark met with them and agreed to do the site.

Meanwhile, Eduardo is finally initiated into the club Phoenix. Mark started brainstorming and he came up with better ideas for the site. Behind the Winkleovss's backs he started "The Facebook". It was the same thing as HarvardConnection only it was interactive and for more than just dating. Mark asked Eduardo to be his partner because Eduardo had the money and soon, with the acceptance of Phoenix, he would have a lot more friends.

I really like this book so far and it's a good story. The reason why i decided to read it in the first place was because i wanted to see the movie. Everyone knows that the book is always better than the movie. It is kind of crazy to think that facebook was only made a few years ago. It went from exclusively Harvard to all colleges. Now it's moved on to high school students, and even annoying parents have them. You could ask almost anyone, and they would say they've heard of facebook.

The first character introduced is Eduardo Saverin. He is an awkward, nerdy, and very intelligent guy. He is on his junior year at Harvard but he wishes he could experience more. He makes it clear that belonging to a house, club, or group is important. Everyone is judged by their social status.

The first chapter takes place at a party. Eduardo feels very intimidated by the people and is about to leave when he runs into a popular senior. Eduardo is able to win over the senior and later he will be slowly initiated into the seniors group. After that party he finds a new house and ends up meeting Mark Zuckerberg. In high school mark turned down a million dollar opportunity from Microsoft. So, obviously he is pretty smart and good with computers. Beside the fact, Mark and Eduardo begin to hang out more often. Their relationship grows fast and they become good friends.

The book is interrupted by a chapter about three guys, Tyler Winklevoss, Cameron Winklevoss, and Divya. They are planning on making a social network to meet girls. But, the person that was suppose to do all the technical work left. So they are looking for a replacement.

Later, Mark gets jealous of Eduardo after being turned down by a girl. So, he decides to make a social network for Harvard. He stays up all night hacking Harvard's system and finally collects everyone's picture and information.
